We offer different services to be as diverse as
the people we serve. Meaning? You will easily
find an environment that meets your needs and
your desires here at First Baptist Deaf Church.
You will find yourself discussing with, giving
feedback to, and conversing with other deaf, HH,
and hearing people who have had similar life
experiences, problems, and goals. Don’t believe
us? Let’s run a test…
· Are
you Deaf?
Oral User? Total Communication User? Cued Speech
User?
You’ve come to the right place. All of our
worship services are in American Sign Language
and accommodated by professional voice
interpreters available to anyone. We are very
open to everyone and are more than willing to
adjust the environment to meet your needs.
· Are
you an interpreter?
We have several interpreters that come to our
church and share their experiences in order to
support each other.
· Are
you deaf and come from a hearing family?
We have many deaf adults who come from hearing
families and encourage each other with positive
and practical messages each week.
· Are
you a CODA?
Yup, that’s right. We do have CODA adults who
are actively involved with the church and enjoy
the deaf church family.
· Do
you have a cochlear implant?
There are members of First Baptist Deaf Church
with cochlear implants who are immersed in the
friendly-environment of our church family.
· Are
you deaf and blind?
We provide many accessible resources for
deaf-blind people to enjoy our classes and
worship services. Our most important resources
for deaf-blind people are adjusted color
backgrounds, extra-clear slideshows, available
televisions connected to a camera taping the
service, and much more.
· Are
you learning ASL?
Correct! There are several people here at First
Baptist Deaf Church who are learning ASL, from a
beginning level to an interpreting level. Come
and learn ASL by interacting with deaf people
and worshipping God at the same time!
