Rev. Dr. Debbie J. Buchholz is hard-of-hearing and comes from a family of genetic deafness. Her parents are Deaf and her seven children are all Deaf or hard-of-hearing. She has a BA in Management and Human relations and MA in counseling, and has completed her seminary studies designed specifically in Ministry and Christian Education for the Deaf. Rev. Buchholz has been a pastor since 1991. She was a senior co-pastor of First Baptist Church in Olathe, Kansas for three years. She became Senior Pastor of Deaf International Community Church in 2010. She teaches a multicultural class at MidAmerica Nazarene University, and has served as an on-camera translator and ASL consultant consultant for the American Sign Language Bible Translation team at Deaf Missions for 16 years. Debbie is also a co-founder and the board chairperson of Deaf International.
